The 2 Door Cinema Club: A Journey Through Music

Formed in 2007, the 2 Door Cinema Club has been making waves in the music industry for over a decade. The three-piece band from Northern Ireland consists of Alex Trimble on vocals and rhythm guitar, Sam Halliday on lead guitar and backing vocals, and Kevin Baird on bass and synths.

The trio's journey began at the age of 16 when they first performed as a band under the name Life Without Rory at ATL Rock School. Although they finished in last place, their passion for music only grew stronger. The three members met while attending Bangor Grammar School, with Halliday and Trimble later meeting Baird during his flirtatious days.

Over the years, the 2 Door Cinema Club has become a staple at festivals such as Reading and Leeds Festival and Glastonbury. Their fourth album, False Alarm, released in 2019, featured singles 'Satellite' and 'Talk,' along with two more singles, 'Bad Decisions' and 'Gameshow,' which were released prior to the album.

The band's discography is impressive, with their second album Beacon debuting at number one on the Irish Albums Chart and reaching number two in the UK Albums Chart. Their third album Gameshow was released in 2016 and featured the single 'Are We Ready? (Wreck),' which debuted on Annie Mac's Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1.

The 2 Door Cinema Club has received numerous accolades, including being selected for the Choice Music Prize for Irish Album of the Year for their album Tourist History in 2010. In the United States, where they are signed to Glassnote Records, the album was released on April 27, 2010.

Throughout their career, the band has remained true to their musical vision, blending indie rock and dance elements to create a unique sound that resonates with fans worldwide.
